Hi all just a reminder that the club is hosting an EGM tonight at The Pavilion, Hatherley Lane at 7:30pm. The meeting is to discuss next steps in regards to The Cold Pool Lane facility. The EGM will be both informative and decisive in terms of moving forward with the permission of your club membership. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Please bring membership cards with you.

Many Thanks.

Great News for the Future

Dear Membership,

Many, if not all of you will be aware of your our clubs recent good news. FC Lakeside has taken part in an Invitation to Tender (ITT) process with Tewkesbury Borough Council (TBC). The Tender was for the bid to become preferred supplier to TBC for the new community sports facility in Cold Pool Lane, Up Hatherley.

I am proud to confirm as your Chairman, that after months of meetings and hard work from a select group of committed individuals from within your club, we have been successful and have been awarded with the bid and in turn, we have become TBC preferred supplier for the CPL site.

We feel, having completed Stage One, we now move to the next level of this project. Legal advice is now needed and a lease has to be agreed, before a 25 year contract can be signed by FC Lakeside. You can rest assured no stone has been left unturned and a full business plan, asset management, and finance report, amongst other articles, including building partnerships within the local community, have been part of the TBC ITT. This project is both exciting for FC Lakeside and achievable to safeguard your clubs future for at least the next 25 years.

We now move to Stage Two. Your club feels at this point of continued transparency, we need to call an Extraordinary General Meeting. The EGM will be both informative and decisive in terms of moving forward with the permission of your club membership. Therefore the FC Lakeside EGM will take place on Tuesday 2nd May at The Pavilion, Hatherley Lane, Up Hatherley, 7:30pm start on time.

You are very welcome to attend and listen and ask questions, following a further report given on the procedure so far. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the 2nd May, please can you bring your membership cards with you.

Official Club Statement

FC Lakeside can now officially reveal probably the best news our club has had in our 42 year history. For the last 3 months, (and a bit longer), your management committee together with some highly professional parents of youth team players, decided to investigate the potential of entering into a Tender process with Tewkesbury Borough Council. The Invitation to Tender was set up for any sports clubs or organisations, to bid for the right to become preferred supplier to TBC and be able to work together to run the new sports facility in Cold Pool Lane, Hatherley.
FC Lakeside are very proud to announce, “we have been successful in our bid”. Subject to contract agreement and legal procedures we now have the opportunity to work closer with The Hatherley community in all areas of sporting activities, not just football.

FC lakeside founded in Hatherley in 1975, are proud to have won this bid and hopefully can now put down some home roots after all these years.
With a 25 lease, (still to agree), we can secure football for FC Lakeside for the next generation.
This is wonderful for our club, however more importantly our community. We are excited at the prospect of local schools, charity groups and other organisations such as local scouts, running clubs, and sports for the disabled community, ALL benefitting from a well structured local facility.
This will be a facility that FC Lakeside, TBC and The Hatherley community will be proud of.
May I congratulate the committed group of people who have worked tirelessly on this Tender process, meeting weekly and putting together an incredible bid.

Over the coming days, weeks and months, further information will be released. Firstly we will call an informative EGM very soon for the FC Lakeside membership. Transparency through membership is key to a successful club and we will respect all views from our members before contractual agreements are finalised. As your Chairman, personally, this is a very proud moment for me and I hope we can move forward for FC Lakeside to continue to develop in all areas.

Thank you all once again, you are all part of a great club, continuing on an historic journey.

Rob Griffiths
FC Lakeside

We wish to bring to your attention the NSPCC contact number which is 0800 0232642

Also please note that the FA have asked for extra vigilance with regards to our safeguarding and our club procedures.
