04 Nov FC Lakeside Reserves march on in Minor Charity Cup
FC Lakeside Reserves produced the performance of the season with a convincing 0-6 away win in the Minor Charity Cup. The game was controlled from the first whistle with the Midfield 3 dominating the game. Lakeside continued to create chances and were close to going a goal up in the first 5 minutes. They continued to maintain possession and were rewarded on the 26th minute with the first goal. Joseph Richards with a whipped corner that was turned in by Scott Edginton. The 2nd goal wasn’t far behind and on the 32nd minute Joseph Richards got on the end of well timed through ball and tucked it under the rushing keeper. After the restart Lakeside quickly regained possession and it was Liam Powell who assisted nicely for Joseph Richards to get his 2nd of the game. Malvern Cave changed their formation going into the 2nd half in an attempt to get back into the game. A 2nd yellow card for a Malvern player reduced them to 10 men and it was going to be an uphill battle from there. Chay Gambrell assisted nicely for Scott Edginton to get his 2nd of the game and take it 0-4. Joseph Richards quickly completed his hat-trick after a through ball from Ashley Underwood. On the 83rd minute Joseph Richards clipped a ball into the box where Leroy Odiero watched the ball come over his shoulder and volleyed it into the top corner to wrap up the game. A fantastic performance from the Reserves and the next round awaits.
