FC Lakeside Reserves make it 5 wins from 5

FC Lakeside Reserves continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing 7-1 home victory v Andoversford Reserves. On a very cold and wet afternoon at Dowtys the new look Reserves side were looking to maintain their 100% record following a 2-0 win away at Pitville Reserves 2 weeks ago.

Manager Warren Fitzgeorge had a very strong starting 11 available and a strong bench waiting in the wings. It was a tight start and Andoversford managed to keep FC Lakeside at bay for the opening half hour. On the 30 minute a shot from distance from Leroy Odiero could not be held by the keeper and Rayhan Meah was able to capitalise to make it 1-0.

FC Lakeside were able to dominate and took a comfortable lead into half time thanks to a hatrick from Rayhan Meah. It was more of the same in the 2nd half and Lakeside were slick in possession, dominated the game and created many goal scoring opportunities.

Two further goals from Scott Edginton and 1 from Joseph Richards quickly made it 6. A penalty was awarded to FC Lakeside in the 65th minute and Edginton did the honours to complete his hatrick. A late penalty for Andoversford allowed them a consolation goal but it was FC Lakeside who collected all the 3 points.

On another day it would have been double figures if other chances had been taken but the style of play pleased the management duo of Fitzgeorge and Moore. The Reserves have now played 5 and won 5 in the Cheltenham League Division 4 scoring 32 goals in the process and conceding just 2.
