Following a new sponsorship deal with local plumbing and heating firm Flametree we recently met up FC lakeside U11 Whites Sponsor Greg Herdman.

Thanks for meeting us today Greg, its always a pleasure Sir. So how long have Flametree sponsored FC Lakeside?

Hi there Tim. It’s a pleasure to be able to catch up with you. We are into our 3^rd year now as a sponsor with FC Lakeside Under 11 Whites and what a fantastic 3 years it has been!

What triggered you to put Flametree forward and commit to a Sponsorship deal? Of course, it’s a big Investment for any small business to make?

I was looking to do some more advertising locally and I currently advertise in a few local magazines but the chance to see my name embossed on the front of a successful local football teams match shirt was something I couldn’t turn down! As well as that however I am fully aware of what a strong history and presence FC Lakeside has in the area. The chance to get my name out to that community and of course the large club network that is FC Lakeside itself, just made sense.

As a local boy have we ever seen Mr Herdman don a Lakeside shirt on the field of play? 

Sadly not Tim! I grew up over the M5 in Gloucester until the age of 12 and my club until then was the team of hard knocks, the mighty Tuffley Rovers!

Tell us a little bit about Flametree Plumbing and Heating?

Flametree Plumbing and Heating is a small local business with over 15 years of experience, specialising in boiler servicing, repair and heating installations. This might involve an annual boiler service, replacing an existing boiler for a new, more energy efficient boiler. It might be as extensive as a complete re-pipe of a central heating and plumbing system including the installation of underfloor heating and hot water cylinders. I am more than happy to discuss any scale of project with customers and offer advise on their project whatever the scale.

What advice would you give to any local business no matter how big or small who may be interested in sponsoring an FC lakeside Team?

Go for it! It is great value for money when you consider the strong network that a club like Lakeside offers.

Living locally in Hatherley you will have seen the ongoing developments at Cold Pool Lane. What are your thoughts on the new facility?

Yes I am very excited about this! Do you know when the bar is opening there? It is great for the club to finally have a base for all age groups involved with Lakeside FC! It will be great to have a focal point for the club on a weekly basis and already I can see how often it is being used by the different boys and girls age groups throughout the week and on the weekends.

I am sure you see the opportunity in CPL both on and off the field and how it will become a hub for the club for years to come?

Absolutely Tim, the potential of the new home of the club is clear to see. It is creating a foundation for future generations and will really allow the club to push on and continue doing what it does best. Providing football for the local community

We know that you are a Liverpool fan and we have to ask if you feel they can win the title again this season?

Yes!!
